DUCTUS VENOSUS

 

 

 This picture shows Normal Doppler Spectrum / wave form of  ductus venosus.

         Ductus venosus is a small conduit which carries oxygenated blood from umbilical vein to the right atrium. This oxygenated blood passes directly from right atrium to left atrium through foramen ovale. Blood flow in ductus venosus is characterized by high velocity during ventricular systole (S wave) and diastole (d wave) and be the presence of forward flow during atrial contraction (a wave)
